Why Did TCS Launch Its Seventh Gemini Experience Center in the US?

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has launched its seventh Gemini Experience Center at its Innovation Hub in Troy, Michigan, according to a report by the Times of India. The facility marks the company’s second such center in the United States after the one established in New York.
The new AI center in Michigan will focus on developing Physical AI capabilities specifically for the manufacturing sector. It aims to demonstrate how artificial intelligence can interact with machines, industrial systems, and factory environments to support operational improvements and enable intelligent decision-making.
Need for a Smart Manufacturing AI Center
The Troy-based Physical AI Center will enable manufacturers to test and evaluate AI-driven applications designed to improve safety, quality, and efficiency in industrial environments. The facility showcases TCS’ Physical AI Blueprint.
Anupam Singhal, President of Manufacturing at TCS, said, “With the launch of our Physical Al Gemini Experience Center for Manufacturing, we are enabling manufacturers to extend visibility and decision-making into environments that are difficult, risky, or inefficient for humans to access. Designed with a human-in-the-loop approach, Physical Al operates alongside the workforce, strengthening safety and resilience. The real impact is creating future-ready industrial environments that are safer, more adaptive, and continuously aware-at scale.”
Adding to it, Saurabh Tiwary, Vice President and General Manager of Cloud AI at Google Cloud, noted: “Through the new Physical Al Gemini Experience Center, we are equipping global manufacturers with the intelligence to build more autonomous, resilient, and data-driven enterprises, allowing them to fully optimize their business models with Google Cloud’s leading technology.”
Part Of A Broader Global AI Strategy
The new facility forms part of TCS’s broader effort to expand its global network of Gemini Experience Centers, developed in collaboration with Google Cloud. The company already operates similar centers in Bengaluru, Chennai, New York, Riyadh, Singapore, and São Paulo.
These centers allow enterprises to experiment with AI use cases, prototype solutions, and scale deployment across industries including manufacturing, finance, and retail. TCS plans to increase the total number of Gemini Experience Centers to thirteen worldwide by the end of 2026.
The launch also aligns with the company’s wider focus on strengthening its artificial intelligence ecosystem. TCS recently collaborated with AMD to introduce Helios rack-scale AI infrastructure and support the development of an AI-ready data center blueprint in India.
