Samsung has started rolling out the beta version of its One UI 9 program. The company said the new program is launching this week with the Galaxy S26 series. Running on Android 17, Samsung’s One UI 9 beta features expanded AI tools that offer better accessibility features, customization options, and security protections.
What Changes is One UI 9 Beta Bringing to Samsung Notes?
One UI 9 Beta is introducing new features to Samsung Notes. One of these is a customization option that allows users to add decorative tapes to notes. The new program also comes with multiple “Pen line styles” that add visual expression to note-taking, sketching, and journaling.
Samsung is giving the “Contacts app” direct access to the “Creative Studio”. With this access, users can personalize profile cards without having to switch from one app to another. This makes profile customization much easier, faster and convenient.
Additionally, Samsung’s “Quick Panel” redesign brings more customization options to the Notes app. Users can adjust brightness, media player, and sound setting independently. By giving users more control over the layout, Samsung, which integrated Perplexity AI into its Bixby smart assistant last year, is allowing them to customize the panel to suit their preferences.
New Program Comes With Better Accessibility Features
When it comes to accessibility, One UI 9 is offering multiple upgrades. Users have more control over “Mouse Key” movement and they can adjust speeds for better cursor movement. The new program also introduces a new “TalkBack” tool that connects accessibility features that were previously split between Samsung and Google.
With the new tool, One UI 9 is offering users a more unified accessibility experience.
Another tool that users will find useful in the Galaxy S26 One UI 9 series is the “Text Spotlight” feature that makes reading easier. The new tool enlarges text or highlights it in floating windows to make it legible.
Besides customization and accessibility, One UI 9 is designed to offer users better protection. The program can proactively identify potentially harmful or suspicious apps. Samsung says the system can warn users and even block app installation or execution if it detects a high-risk application.
Samsung’s new program can also recommend deletion of high-risk apps via security updates. The smartphone maker introduced One UI 9 beta months after the company announced plans to update One UI 8.5 devices with its AI-powered Bixby assistant.
When Does One UI 9 Become Available?
Initially, Samsung is making One UI 9 beta available in Galaxy S26 series in selected regions. These include Germany, India, Poland, the U.S., the U.K., and South Korea. The company said that eligible users can enroll for the beta program via the Samsung app from next week. Samsung has not released details on when the new program will be available in older Galaxy devices. The South Korean tech giant said the stable version of the program will roll out later this year along with its next-generation devices.
