New Renaissance AI-Powered Tool to Boost Teacher Experience

Renaissance, the EdTech leader in pre-K12 educational resources and insights, has launched Renaissance Next. According to PRNewswire, Renaissance’s powerful new teacher experience AI tool transforms the way instructors teach in the classroom.

Renaissance operates in 100+ countries. Its mission is to provide teachers with resources and insights they need to help students build a strong foundation for academic success.

The Renaissance database is a rich resource that incorporates over 38 years of real student and teacher data and insights. The Renaissance Next platform brings those insights to teachers so they can truly see every student. It leverages lesson and activity recommendations to accelerate learning for all,” Renaissance Chief Product Officer, Todd Brekhus.

Teacher Needs

The new tech tool empowers teachers with recommendations to help them make important decisions. According to Brekhus, the process of developing the tech tool was inspired by the need to help teachers in their journey to support learners.

We started by asking the question that is on the mind of every educator as they consider what’s next in their classroom, ‘How do I provide each learner with the right support, help, or acceleration? That’s what led us to create Renaissance Next, which gives teachers actionable insights and quality instructional resources to meet their students’ needs,” he said.

Renaissance Next is designed to give instructors real-time advice in the classroom. It gives teachers valuable insights by allowing them to view practice activities, accurate assessments, and instructional data on a single platform.

Renaissance Ecosystem

Renaissance’s new teacher experience tool integrates well with other key products that run on the Renaissance ecosystem. These include Freckle, Star Assessments, myON, Accelerated Reader, and Lalilo.

The new tech tool is capable of surfacing Nearpod resources based on performance in ELA and math assessments. Leveraging the power of these tools, Renaissance Next offers instructors real-time insights to guide learning and teaching in the classroom.

Teachers can use the tool to check student performance and track the progress and skill mastery of each student. Renaissance Next also allows teachers to review lesson plans and activities and either amplify them, adapt them, or make adjustments.

Renaissance Next gives me a quick glimpse of where my kids are, where they need to go, and what I need to do. It provides all of these tools that make my job so much easier, including the ability to differentiate down to individual student needs.” Carbondale Elementary School District 95 Third-Grade Teacher and Renaissance Next Beta Tester, Julia Witges said.

Leveraging AI

The new teacher experience platform has been tested by thousands of teachers who use Renaissance products. The platform presents data for individual students. This data can be used to inform education decisions for an entire district. Feedback received from teachers informed the Renaissance Next design.

We plan to embed insights from Renaissance Next across our district and systems. It complements our strategic plan for the 2024–2025 school year, which involves helping students understand their own data and progress, and setting their own goals, with support from and in consultation with their teachers,” Carbondale Elementary School District 95 Superintendent, Janice Pavelonis said.

Renaissance’s powerful new teacher experience tool leverages AI to provide differentiated instruction insights and recommendations to teachers. During the development of Renaissance Next, the edtech company used AI to catalog its huge library of pre-K12 practice activities and instructional resources to make them readily accessible to teachers.
