Oura Smart Ring 4 Launches with Advanced Features

Oura has just launched a new smart ring, Oura Ring 4.

According to CNBC, the company announced Oura Smart Ring 4 on October 3. The new ring runs on a new smart sensing platform that leverages updated sensors and algorithms to collect accurate blood oxygen data, breathing disturbances, and heart rate data.

Enhanced Features

Oura’s latest smart ring design features a sleek look, new sensors, and a long battery life that can run for up to eight days. Unlike the Oura Ring 3 sensors which are raised and feel a bit bumpy, Oura Ring 4 new sensors are flat. This gives the ring a much smoother interior and makes it more comfortable to wear.

The ring integrates advanced tracking features that allow users to track a range of metrics. These include capturing data on exercise, sleep, heart health, and stress to guide users in making healthier decisions.

The company plans to roll out more features on Oura Ring 4 in the coming months. The upcoming features will allow users to monitor exercise activities without logging data manually. Instead, the smart ring will collect activity data on their daytime stress and display it on the Oura App to help users understand how their habits and behavior affect their stress levels.

Oura is also updating the reproductive health aspect of the smart ring to add a fertile window feature. With this feature, users will be able to track their menstrual cycle and determine their chances of getting pregnant.

Users will also be able to estimate their fertile days based on ovulation data captured through the Oura smart ring new sensors. Although the company plans to roll out this feature in a few month’s time, users can sign up to join the waiting list and get early access to the new features.

New Look App

The company released a new app design to go with the new Oura smart ring. The app comes with a new layout that displays user data in three tabs namely Today, Vitals, and My Health.

The Today tab displays relevant information depending on the time of day. It comes with shortcuts that give users quick access to activity, sleep, heart rate, readiness, and menstrual cycle data.

Users who want more details about these parameters can leverage the Vitals tab. My Health tab presents longer-term metrics to help users keep tabs on their sleep trends, stress resilience, and cardiovascular health. Users can test the new features on Oura Labs. Previously, the Oura Lab feature was only available on iPhones. The company has now made the feature available on Android devices.

Price and Shipping

Oura has produced Oura Ring 4 in twelve different sizes and six colors, which includes a new black finish. Although the official Oura smart ring 4 release date is October 3, 2024, users can only pre-order the product. The company will start shipping the rings on October 15, 2024.

The company has set Oura ring 4 price at $349. However, buyers must pay a $5.99 monthly or $69.99 annual membership fee. Oura is offering customers a free initial month. Customers have the option of using flexible spending and health savings accounts to pay for both membership and the ring.
