  • The RTX Spark chip supports AI agents and gaming in PCs
  • The new chip will be included in Windows PCs made by Lenovo, Dell, and HP
  • The first Windows PCs powered by RTX Spark chips are expected in September 2026

Nvidia has unveiled new chips that bring AI functions to Windows laptop and desktop computers. The NVIDIA RTX Spark chip is designed to support AI and gaming. It combines graphics chips and microprocessor capabilities to run AI agents in personal computers without relying on cloud computing. The RTX Spark chip pushes NVIDIA further into the consumer market for AI-integrated devices.

Our goal is to deliver unmetered intelligence to every home and every desk with Windows. RTX Spark marks a real breakthrough towards that vision,” Microsoft Chairman and CEO, Satya Nadella stated as cited by a statement by NVIDIA.

How Does NVIDIA RTX Spark Work?

NVIDIA’s partnership with Microsoft is aimed at expanding AI agent adoption. Previously, adoption of agentic systems has been hindered by the inability to run agentic tools securely on personal computers. The two companies will provide a secure Windows platform for on-device agents in what NVIDIA called a PC reinvention.

The PC is being reinvented. For forty years, you launched apps. Click. Type. With RTX Spark and Microsoft Windows, you ask, and the PC does the work. RTX Spark brings everything NVIDIA has built, CUDA, RTX, our AI platform, into a single superchip. Local agents. Frontier models. Creative workflows. RTX games. All on a laptop. This is the new PC. The personal AI computer,” NVIDIA Founder and CEO Jensen Huang said.

Supported by the new Windows security primitives and NVIDIA OpenShell, the new chip will help AI agents to navigate personal computers safely and autonomously. Windows primitives will provide identity, containment, and end-to-end security security capabilities.

NVIDIA’s OpenShell provides policy capabilities that define AI agents’ activities, ability to route queries based on user privacy, and the ability to disguise personal data when querying cloud models.

When Will the NVIDIA AI PC Chip Launch?

Nvidia announced that the RTX Spark chip will launch this year. The chipmaker said the new chip will be included in an upcoming line of Windows PCs manufactured by Lenovo, Dell, HP, Microsoft Surface, MSI, and Asus. The first Windows PCs powered by NVIDIA RTX Spark chips are expected in September 2026.

The RTX Spark chip combines capabilities of the central processing unit with those of graphics processing units to power AI personal computers. NVIDIA is currently the world’s most valuable company after its valuation surpassed that of Apple, Alphabet, and Microsoft last year. The chip maker also dominates the AI chip market

What NVIDIA’s AI Chip Means for the PC Market

Although analysts say that NVIDIA’s entry into the consumer PC market will create a new business line for the company, it will take time to build the unit. The move will likely challenge other players in the PC market like Intel and Apple.

NVIDIA introduces an AI chip for personal computers at a time when demand for agentic tools continues to rise. For consumers, the new chip expands the options available and gives them more choices.
