NVIDIA has agreed to partner with Japanese telecommunications and computer maker, Fujitsu on AI, robotics, and quantum computing. According to Yahoo Finance, the NVIDIA-Fujitsu AI partnership will see two companies collaborate in the development of smart robots and other innovations using NVIDIA chips.
NVIDIA and Fujitsu plan to establish AI infrastructure for Japan by 2030. The two companies say they will collaborate in developing futuristic AI systems across sectors like environment, healthcare, manufacturing, and next-generation computing.
Initially, the infrastructure will be customized for the Japanese market in order to leverage Fujitsu’s decades-long experience. But the companies might expand it globally in the future.
“The AI industrial revolution has begun, and we must build the infrastructure to power it in Japan and across the globe. Fujitsu is a true pioneer in computing and Japan’s trusted leader in supercomputing, quantum research, and enterprise systems. Together, NVIDIA and Fujitsu are connecting and extending our ecosystems to forge a powerful partnership for the era of AI,” NVIDIA CEO and founder Jensen Huang said.
Fujitsu considers the partnership with NVIDIA as strategic in the development of full-stack AI infrastructure in Japan. It is designed to enhance Japan’s enterprise competitiveness while retaining control over AI use.
“Fujitsu’s strategic collaboration with NVIDIA will accelerate AI-driven business transformation in enterprise and government sectors. By combining the cutting-edge technologies of both companies, we will develop and provide full-stack AI infrastructure, starting with sectors such as manufacturing where Japan is a global leader,” Fujitsu Representative Director and CEO, Takahito Tokita said.
Highlights of NVIDIA-Fujitsu Partnership:
While generative AI has gained popularity, Fujitsu noted that high costs and technical barriers continue to limit access for larger firms. By partnering with NVIDIA, the company aims to reduce these barriers and accelerate AI adoption. The Japanese telecommunication makers also said that it will expand the partnership to other computing areas in future.
“To further support the expanding needs of AI infrastructure, Fujitsu and NVIDIA will expand this partnership in the areas of high-performance computing and quantum,” Tokita added.
The two companies outlined three key areas of collaboration:
The AI agent platform will support multi-tenancy and integrate Fujitsu’s AI workload orchestration technology with NVIDIA’s Dynamo platform. The platform will also utilize the chip maker’s NeMo for sector customization. Recently, London-based startup, Paid raised funds to support AI agent monetization through results-based billing.
The next-generation computing infrastructure development will involve partnering in the HPC-AI ecosystem that brings together NVIDIA’s GPUs and Fujitsu’s CPU. It will be designed for zetascale performance. Demand for NVIDIA’s Blackwell AI chips remains high among leading tech companies like Microsoft, Open AI, and Meta. The partner ecosystem will deploy AI via joint programs and industrial use cases.
NVIDIA and Fujitsu have previously worked together on AI in fast-tracking production with robotics and digital twins as a way of tackling Japan’s labor shortage. According to Tokita, the tech companies are embracing a human-centric approach to AI development in order to maintain Japan’s competitiveness.
The companies did not reveal details about the specific projects or their planned investments. However, the companies highlighted collaborating with Japanese robot maker, Yaskawa Electric Corporation as an example. Fujitsu stock rose 3% on October 3, 2025 following news of the NVIDIA and Fujitsu partnership.
