Kirthiga Reddy announced the launch of AI Kiran on April 21st which is a UN Creativity and Innovation Day in the INK Conference. AI Kiran is made for Indian women in AI and to direct and back the future generation of women. According to Indian Express, Kirthiga Reddy said, “With India projected to be a global AI powerhouse, empowering its women in this space isn’t just local impact — it’s global transformation.”
During the INK Conference Kirthiga Reddy who previously led Meta India operations and co-founded SoftBank’s Vision Fund announced the debut of AI Kiran. Through this initiative, she aims to close the gender disparity in artificial intelligence by teaching women essential skills and providing them with the assistance required for AI success.
AI Kiran is not only a training program for women in AI, but it also provides mentorship, community, and experiential learning. The AI Kiran mentorship program will connect participants with experienced professionals in AI who can mentor them through real-world problems, career paths, and learning resources.
The initiative is aimed at empowering women across different backgrounds—students, professionals, entrepreneurs, and researchers—through access to the tools and networks essential to driving positive change in AI.
Reddy said, “It is towards building a cross-functional AI community. The initiative is hosted on the Manthan Platform, enabling access for a wide and diverse audience of professionals, students, and researchers across India. This initiative combines a vibrant membership community with access to mentorship, curated learning programmes, branding support, and high-impact events – creating valuable opportunities for growth, visibility, and leadership. It is also about connecting women across geographies.”
The INK Women Foundation and AI Kiran collaboration serves as an essential partner by assembling leading innovators and thought leaders who establish opportunities for women seeking involvement in technology. The collaboration works to establish AI inclusivity by letting women contribute their thoughts and voices to form the next developments in powerful technology.
AI Kiran will establish an encouraging environment with safety measures through its partnership to empower women within the AI community. The program delivers all required success tools to participants using workshops, individual mentoring and digital resources.
At the launch of AI Kiran, Reddy said, “This launch will set the stage for a multi-year process of recognising, growing and nurturing women leaders in AI. Over the next year, in conjunction with our partners, we aim to reach a million women in AI across our programmes.”
AI Kiran for Indian women in AI represents an essential move to create balance within the industry and achieve greater diversity. Along with support from leaders such as Kirthiga Reddy will enable women to obtain needed self-confidence and resources to take part in leading AI initiatives.
Through its position as an global AI hub India ensures progress becomes an inclusive and equal opportunity that empowers everyone through initiatives such as AI Kiran.
