Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) is reportedly scheduled from June 8 to June 12, 2026. The event’s tagline is “Coming bright up”. Its logo features a glowing light effect, hinting at the Siri AI upgrade in iOS 27, which is expected to launch at the event.
Apple is also expected to unveil macOS 27, iPadOS 27, and visionOS 27 in this year’s WWDC. Tim Cook will likely deliver the keynote address, John Ternus could also feature at the event.
What Should Users Expect from iOS 27?
iOS 27 will reportedly feature subtle improvements with Apple expected to focus more on enhancing software performance and reducing bugs. These improvements will likely include optimizing iOS 27 for the company’s foldable smartphone, iPhone Fold or Ultra.
Siri makeover in iOS 27 is the other major update to expect at the WWDC 2026. Having signed a deal with Google to power the AI assistant with Gemini, Siri will likely launch with new features including a redesigned interface that gives it a new visual identity.
Apple is reportedly testing the Dynamic Island, a “Search or Ask” bar integrated in Siri, internally. The Dynamic Island also features animated cursor effects during interactions.

Siri will have deeper access into Apple’s ecosystem to understand user notes, emails, messages and other forms of personal data. With this understanding, Siri can generate context-aware responses. Siri can complete tasks within apps, including surfacing news updates, fetching information, and conducting searches.
How Will Apple Handle AI Extensions in iOS 27?
Currently, Apple allows its AI assistant to push complex questions to ChatGPT. With the launch of iOS 27, this integration is expected to deepen. Apple is reportedly working on an extensions system to enable users connect third-party AI platforms like Claude and Gemini.

Apple’s Visual Intelligence capabilities are expected to expand in iOS 27. The tech company is reportedly testing a dedicated AI mode feature in its Camera app. With this feature, users can point their camera to a scene or object then ask questions
New Apple Intelligence Updates Released
Besides the Apple WWDC 2026 date leak, the tech giant has released Apple Intelligence updates. The new features include voice control, VoiceOver, real-time video caption generation, and live recognition. With these updates, Vision Pro users can now control compatible wheelchairs with their eyes.
Powered by Apple Intelligence, the image recognition feature in VoiceOver can understand visuals better and describe them in more details. According to the iPhone maker, the feature can scan a bill and pick details like amount and due date.
