Indian tech enterprise HCLTech has unveiled a multi-year partnership with OpenAI, UKTechNews has reported. The HCLTech OpenAI collaboration is aimed at driving transformation in large-scale enterprise AI across industries. The partnership makes HCLTech one of the first global system integrators to reshape enterprise generative AI adoption.
Through the HCLTech joint venture, OpenAI models will be integrated into HCLTech’s solutions and proprietary platforms. These include AI Foundry, AI Force, AI Engineering, and AI Engineering. HCLTech will also embed OpenAI models in AI accelerators within specific industries.
HCLTech relies on these tools to support its full-range AI services. These services include conducting enterprise readiness assessments, integrating AI, and managing its use across entire organizations. According to HCLTech, this approach is designed to streamline operations, improve customer and employee experiences, and help clients discover new growth opportunities.
Integration of OpenAI models into HCLTech platforms will allow customers to leverage OpenAI portfolio alongside other applied AI offerings. With this access, enterprise customers will be able to scale their generative AI deployments.
“HCLTech’s deep industry knowledge and AI engineering expertise sets the stage for scalable AI innovation,” OpenAI’s Chief Commercial Officer Giancarlo ‘GC’ Lionetti said as he explained the thinking behind the latest HCLTech and OpenAI alliance.
The latest partnership will also see HCLTech rollout OpenAI APIs and ChatGPT enterprise within its internal systems. This rollout is expected to give HCLTech employees access to secure, enterprise-grade generative AI environments.
“We are honored to work with OpenAI, the global leader in generative AI foundation models. This collaboration underscores our commitment to empowering Global 2000 enterprises with transformative AI solutions. Vijay Guntur, Head of Ecosystems and Global Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at HCLTech said.”
HCLTech also said that its extensive background in engineering coupled with its expertise in applied AI will be critical to driving scaling the deployments.
This partnership “reaffirms HCLTech’s robust engineering heritage and aligns with OpenAI’s spirit of innovation. Together, we are driving a new era of AI-powered transformation across our offerings and operations at a global scale,” Guntur added.
For OpenAI, the new partnership with HCLTech is an opportunity to implement its wider strategy that involves expanding deployment of its AI models in enterprise settings. The US-based AI startup has been leveraging strategic service partnerships to achieve this goal.
“As one of the first system integration companies to integrate OpenAI to improve efficiency and enhance customer experiences, they are accelerating productivity and setting a new standard for how industries can transform using generative AI,” Lionetti added.
Early this year, OpenAI signed a multi-year agreement with US banking giant BNY to fast-track its AI transformation initiatives. Through the partnership, BNY is using OpenAI’s technology to “enhance its proprietary enterprise AI platform, Eliza, and scale AI-powered solutions across its global operations.”
Launched in August last year, Eliza offers BNY staff access to AI-powered tools and insights to enable them streamline their workflows and support decision-making. According to the bank, over 50% of employees use the platform regularly.
