  • Nano Banana turns Google TV into a shared creative space
  • Google is making the new AI features available in the U.S. first

Google is introducing new features to Google TV.  The update includes Gemini-powered tools like Nano Banana for image generation and Veo for creating videos. The Google TV update also supports YouTube Shorts on the home screen. It improves the way users interact with Google Photos by introducing Remix editing capabilities, voice search and dynamic slideshows.

New Update Makes Google TV More Interactive

The tech giant is combining creative tools, content discovery, and personal media to make its TV more interactive. Placing the YouTube Shorts feature on the Google TV homescreen allows users to find personalized short-form videos without the need to open a separate app.

Google TV will bring a brand-new “Short videos for you” row directly to your Home page. Just jump in to get a personalized feed of snackable videos, starting with YouTube Shorts. This row will roll out to U.S. Google TV devices this summer,” Google TV Product Manager, Gaurav Chaula noted in a blog post.

Users will also be able to create short clips on Google TV using the Veo video generation tool. They can create new videos or animate existing images using simple prompts that describe what they want. The feature is intended to make content creation highly collaborative and fun for groups.

It’s a cool way to get creative with family and friends. Try saying, “Make my grandfather moonwalk in space” to see your imagination come to life on the big screen. To get started, visit the Gemini tab and select ‘Create’,” Chaula noted.

Google TV Gemini Update Supports Image Editing

Google is turning its TV into a shared creative space with Nano Banana. With this tool, users will be able to edit or create images using voice prompts. They can also use the tool to tweak photos, edit backgrounds, or generate new visuals.

The company is also making it easier for users to search Google Photos on Google TV. Using voice commands, users can locate images that capture specific moments like celebrations or trips in their library. The TV displays search results in an easy-to-find layout and gives users the option to start a slideshow or view images on full screen. Google has also introduced a Remix feature in Google Photos, allowing users to add a fresh touch to their images by changing styles.

Once you find the perfect shot, you can give it a new look with Google Photos Remix
Choose from artistic styles like watercolor or oil painting to add a fresh spin to your photos,” Google noted.

Google TV AI tools also come with improved slideshow features. These features allow users to turn photos into displays in colorful, collage-style layouts.

When Will AI Tools be Available on Google TV?

The Photos search and Remix features will be added in Gemini-supported devices in the U.S. first. The YouTube Shorts feature will be available on Google TV in the U.S. in the summer. The company is also introducing Veo and Nano Banana on Gemini-enabled TCL TVs in the U.S. first.
