Google DeepMind A Combined Effort to Revolutionize AI Research and Products

Google has made significant changes to its AI research divisions to accelerate progress in the field of artificial intelligence. The company has announced that it will merge Google Brain and Alphabet’s DeepMind.

These influential AI research teams are bringing together the best talent to develop more capable and responsible general AI systems.

Establishing of Google DeepMind

Google’s significance is something we don’t even need to talk about.

Whatever trend or internet revolution you can think of after the mid-2000s, Google has been at the center of it. AI is no exception to that either.

According to the latest message from the CEO Sundar Pichai, he said that the primary intention behind working together with DeepMind is the development of general AI. He also mentioned why DeepMind is the best partner for them by highlighting their decade’s worth of experience and accomplishments.

The new unit, Google DeepMind, will be led by Demis Hassabis, who will act as the CEO and take on the elevated role of Google’s Chief Scientist. Effectively Demis will serve as Chief Scientist to Google Research and Google DeepMind.

This move from Google is a clear response to Microsoft and OpenAI’s ChatGPT. And, the success of AI systems is something that Google doesn’t want to miss out on.

What projects the new team takes on first is still not disclosed. But, we’re keeping our expectations high for Google to revolutionize the Artificial Intelligence domain.
