Foxconn Unveils Its First Large Language Model to Drive AI Innovation

Foxconn, the world’s biggest electronics maker, unveiled its first large language model on Monday, 10th March, 2025. According to Reuters, the company said that it has launched the model to improve manufacturing and supply chain management. Foxconn said in a statement, “The model named ‘Fox Brain’ was trained using 120 of Nvidia’s H100 GPUs and completed in about four weeks.”

The announcement reflects the company’s further move into AI innovation, especially improving industrial automation and smart manufacturing. Foxconn, also known as Hon Hai, is the assembler of Apple’s iPhone and the maker of Nvidia’s AI servers. In January 2025, Hon Hai saw a surge in its stock prices due to high growth of AI in recent times

One of the most impressive capabilities of the Foxconn Large Language Model is its strong support for traditional Chinese and Taiwanese languages in AI. The company said that their new large language model is based on Meta Llama 3.1 architecture. Foxconn initially designed Foxbrain for internal application and covers data analysis, decision support, document collaboration, mathematics, reasoning and problem-solving, and code generation.

Foxconn Collaboration with AI and Tech Giants

The success of the Foxconn’s Large Language model is not only the result of internal innovation, but also a product of strategic collaborations with major AI research institutes. The company has allegedly participated with AI firms and cloud computing providers. In October 2024, Foxconn collaborated with Nvidia to open the world’s largest superchip factory in Mexico for the bundling of GB 200 chips

This collaboration allows Foxconn to refine its language model, ensuring that it meets the highest industry standards in accuracy. By working with AI experts, the company can accelerate its AI initiative and integrate its language model in smart manufacturing processes, enterprise solutions and even consumer applications.

The Future of Foxconn’s AI Endeavors

The introduction of Foxconn’s Large Language Model marks the beginning of an exciting era to the company’s AI ambitions. As the tech giant continues to expand its AI abilities, we can expect further progress in machine learning, natural language processing and automation technologies.

Hon Hai’s focus on traditional Chinese and Taiwanese language in AI gives it a competitive edge in the regional markets. Foxconn’s AI initiative ensures that AI remains a main component of its commercial strategy. Through collaboration with global AI leaders, the company has been well deployed to run innovation and shape the future of manufacturing and further artificial intelligence.
