Clockwise Launches AI-Powered Calendar Scheduling Assistant

Calendar optimization startup Clockwise has added an AI-powered assistant, Prism to its interface. Prism is the first major calendar interface reimagination in decades.

TechCrunch reported that the smart scheduling AI assistant allows users to create or remove events, manage schedule conflicts, and convert to-do lists into calendar blocks.

Custom Engine

The new visual AI calendar interface is set to change the way sales teams and other employees schedule meetings. Like rivals, Reclaim and Vimcal, Clockwise helps teams in businesses to streamline their schedules.

We’ve spent seven years building the most advanced scheduling engine in the world, and it’s that layer that enables Prism to quickly and reliably make decisions to find the best slots for tasks and meetings,” Matt Martin, Clockwise CEO said.

Clockwise AI assistant uses a custom scheduling engine that leverages natural language queries to solve inefficiencies in meeting scheduling.

The biggest remaining unsolved problem in the workplace is how inefficiently we use the most valuable resource for any knowledge work business- employee time. With Prism, we’re making a leap forward in solving that problem,” he added.

Prism combines Clockwise’s highly advanced scheduling engine with Large Language Models (LLMs) to provide users with better scheduling abilities. It works by translating calendar intent into sophisticated algorithms developed to facilitate scheduling logistics. On average, the algorithms factor in 160 million calendar events per day.

By marrying recent innovations in natural language processing with Clockwise’s powerful scheduling engine, we’ve finally entered an intelligent calendaring era where we can understand and act on intent to offer a scheduling solution that not only meets but exceeds the needs of modern professionals and companies as a whole,” Martin said.

Scheduling Capabilities

AI powered interface Prism allows users to convert typed instructions into calendar events. Sales reps can do this by typing a simple query like ‘create a link to set up a meeting with John next week’. The assistant uses this query to generate a calendar text or link suggesting their availability.

If the suggested meeting time conflicts with another event, Prism gives the user an alternative time slot. The new AI interface also allows users to share links to suggested meeting schedules with other participants and get responses. It brings to the surface any conflicting meeting times among participants.

For urgent meetings, Clockwise AI interface Prism scans team member schedules, identifies an optimal time, and reschedules conflicting events automatically.

Managing To-Do Lists

The Prism AI powered interface is capable of integrating to-do list tasks into the calendar and shift them if the user gets into a meeting. Users can use prompts to set up similar meetings with more participants.

For instance, a user can ask the assistant to schedule 10 minute one-on-one meetings with a list of people they wish to meet. Prompts such as ‘Clear my Tuesday afternoon’ or ‘Reschedule my morning’ also allow users to reschedule tasks fast.

Currently, Clockwise is offering Prism to all users for free. It is also working on enhancing Prism’s integration with Google Calendar to improve weekly schedules for users. The company supports 40,000 businesses to make workdays more productive.
