Inside Apple’s Plan to Launch a Slimmer, Foldable AI iPhone
Apple is getting ready to launch its ultra-slim, foldable iPhone in 2026, reports indicate. The new phone model dubbed iPhone 17 Air will be 25% thinner than current versions and will only be 6 millimeters thick. Yahoo Finance reported that Apple’s Slimmer iPhone will integrate AI, marking a huge design breakthrough for the company.
Recent Improvements
Apple has been working consistently to improve its products as it seeks to enhance its competitiveness in the tech industry. In October 2024, the tech giant released Apple Intelligence. Apple’s beta version of AI preview came with image creation and ChatGPT integration. The AI enhancements also included an improved version of Siri powered by ChatGPT and a set of document summarizing and creative project tools.
However, the features were only available on the latest devices. In September 2024, US Food and Drug Administration approved Apple’s sleep apnea feature, which comes through a software update on Apple’s Watch Series 9, Series 10, and Ultra 2.

Engineering Challenges

This year, the tech giant ranked top on the Management Top 250 ranking conducted by the Drucker Institute, ahead of Microsoft. Analysts in Morgan Stanley attributed Apple’s success to record-breaking sales driven by AI and design improvements in its product lines.
