How Apple’s iOS 27 Could Launch Much Awaited AI Features

Apple is reportedly preparing to unveil its new iOS 27 AI features, Gadgets360 reported. iOS 27 is expected to feature major changes, including performance, quality, and AI upgrades.
Bloomberg analyst Mark Gurman, who wrote about Apple’s iOS 27 performance improvements in the Power On newsletter, said the mobile operating system upgrade will revolve around Apple intelligence and quality enhancements.
Strong Focus on Quality Enhancements
Apple unveiled iOS 26 during the WWDC event in June 2025. Earlier this month, the company rolled out an iOS 26.1 update that introduced key design and security enhancements. Part of these enhancements was the addition of the new Liquid Glass setting from visionOS to the iOS ecosystem.
This feature pushed lock screen customization to a whole new level. However, issues like battery drain, overheating, UI glitches, issues with cellular connectivity, app crashes, and keyboard failures have affected user experience.
According to Gurman, Apple engineers continue to address these issues in a bid to improve performance. These actions are part of wider efforts to enhance the quality of its mobile operating system, which is expected to power its much awaited foldable phone.
What New AI Features Will iOS 27 Bring?
Reports indicate that Apple is prioritizing Apple Intelligence in iOS 27 as it works towards introducing AI capabilities to iPhones. Apple Intelligence is at the heart of Apple’s AI strategy.
Apple Intelligence is guided by four architectural principles:
- Privacy where AI tasks are completed without data leaving user devices
- User-centric design to make devices personal, intuitive, and helpful
- Ecosystem integration for seamless flow of AI capabilities Apple devices
The tech giant is reportedly working on a health-focused AI model for iOS 27, which might be included in the company’s Health+ subscription service. This is not the first time that Apple is venturing into AI-powered health solutions.
In September 2025, the tech giant added an AI-powered hypertension alert feature to its Apple Watch Series 11 models. The feature notifies users about potential high blood pressure.
Revamped Siri Could Run on iOS 27
Apple’s iOS 27 is expected to power a revamped version of the company’s AI assistant, Siri. In July 2025, the tech giant started exploring a major overhaul of Siri by embedding third-party AI models like Anthropic and OpenAI.
However, this plan changed earlier this month after reports that Google was building a customized Gemini AI model for Apple emerged. The AI model will run on Apple’s cloud infrastructure and boost the capabilities of its AI voice assistant, Siri.
Apple is expected to launch iOS 27 features at the WWDC in June 2026. The company might roll out the beta version of iOS 27 in July 2026. Software updates on eligible iPhone models are scheduled for September 2026 after the company launches iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone Fold series.
