Adobe Expands AI Push With New Creative Agent for Video Suite
In Focus
- Firefly AI assistant works across Adobe’s video and photo editing software suite
- Claude users will access the AI agent through the Adobe-Claude connector
- Firefly AI agent will launch in public beta later this month
Adobe has introduced Firefly AI assistant, a new creative agentic tool that helps users complete tasks across its video and photo editing software suite. The design software company is partnering with Anthropic to bring the new agentic tool to creative workflows.
The Firefly agentic tool can execute instructions from creatives about content and generate desired outcomes. The AI agent uses Adobe software tools like Illustrator, Photoshop, and Premiere Pro to complete design tasks.
“Firefly AI Assistant introduces a fundamentally new way to create, one where you start with the vision, describe what you want and shape it as it comes together with the help of the assistant,” Adobe noted in its statement.
Adobe to Integrate Firefly Agent into Claude
Adobe, which launched Firefly on mobile last year, will integrate its creative AI agent into Claude for the first time. This integration will extend Claude’s capabilities beyond coding and enterprise and bring them to creative workflows. The design software company said Claude users will be able to access the new agentic AI tools for creatives through the Adobe-Claude connector.
“There are parts of projects, or individual sections of an image, where you really care about getting into the individual pixels, and we want to continue to support customers in doing that, but there are places where you would be happy to just hand this stuff off to an agent or an assistant,” Adobe’s Creativity and Productivity CTO, Ely Greenfield noted.
Adobe introduced a creative AI agent about a year after it launched Firefly as an image generation app that made design tools accessible to ad creatives.
Adobe’s Journey to Agentic AI
Adobe has been embedding AI assistants across its creative software for some time now. The company integrated agents into Adobe Express and Photoshop in October 2025. AI agents are gaining traction across the industry, with offerings such as Claude Code and OpenClaw challenging established tech players.
The Firefly AI assistant is the newest agentic tool in a series of investments that the company has made since 2023. The tool forms part of Adobe’s strategy to differentiate itself from lower-cost rivals as AI eliminates barriers to creating images and videos.
“Agentic AI is changing how creative work gets done, but the quality of the outcome depends on the foundation it is built on. Firefly AI Assistant is grounded in our decades of innovation in creative tools and workflows. It can leverage pro-grade capabilities across our category-leading apps, tools purpose-built for creating across asset types with unmatched precision and control,” the company noted.
How Much Will the Firefly AI Agent Cost?
Adobe did not reveal how much its creative AI agent will cost. However, the company said it expects the AI-powered tool to attract high usage of its AI credits. Adobe is expected to launch the Firefly AI assistant in public beta later this month. The design software firm will also be releasing additional details about Adobe’s connector to Claude in the coming weeks.
