Google Cloud, Accenture Push AI, Cloud Technologies in Europe With New Innovation Center
In Focus
- European governments and enterprises want to control data and security as they adopt AI
- The Sovereign AI Innovation Center includes a dedicated training center
- The center provides a secure space for innovating and validating AI and cloud solutions
Accenture and Google Cloud have teamed up to launch a Sovereign AI Innovation Center in Brussels. Both companies revealed the new center as European enterprises seek to adopt AI while retaining control over data and compliance. The new Accenture-Google AI center in Brussels features a dedicated training facility.
Google Cloud, Accenture to Showcase Expertise
The new center will be used to showcase Google’s distributed cloud air-gapped AI, which supports enterprises to meet resilience, sovereignty, and regulatory requirements. Accenture will also use the Sovereign AI center in Brussels to showcase industry, AI, and data expertise.
The AI sovereignty initiative in Europe is designed to provide organizations with a secure space to train, explore, innovate, design, and validate AI and cloud solutions. The center is expected to support mission-critical workloads that organizations and enterprises cannot link to public networks.
The center will also offer organizations, software vendors, and ecosystem partners a collaborative environment for developing proofs of concept and co-innovating AI. Google Cloud, which started discussing a multibillion-dollar AI infrastructure deal with Anthropic last year, said the new center is a secure space for testing AI solutions.

“We are helping European organizations address the paradox of how to embrace the transformative power of AI while upholding the strictest standards of digital sovereignty. Our new Sovereign Innovation center is a secure, collaborative space where public sector and regulated organizations can build, test, and validate real-world AI solutions, ensuring their most sensitive workloads remain protected,” Google Cloud President for EMEA Region, Tara Brady stated.
Sovereignty is Critical for Public Services
Accenture, which acquired TalentSprint last year, identified compliance, sovereignty, and trust as critical for regulated industries and public services. The company said the new center will provide space for these entities to validate different sovereign AI options.
“The levels of control needed across data, models, and infrastructure can vary according to use cases. It’s rarely a full-control-or-nothing decision. The centre will enable our clients to explore and validate different sovereign AI options, and make the right decisions according to their needs, so they can innovate with confidence. It will also enable them to train their people in sovereign AI skills, building in-house expertise to maintain appropriate oversight,” Accenture CEO for EMEA Region, Mauro Macchi noted.

The Innovation Center launched at a time when European establishments are reassessing their reliance on non-EU cloud providers.
What the New Center Means for Google and Accenture
Google Cloud and Accenture will use the sovereign AI center to support the adoption of AI and cloud computing technologies by European organizations. The two companies also plan to help organizations in the regional block modernize mission-critical systems without compromising control.
Additionally, the two firms use the center to develop specialized skills that organizations require to manage sovereign cloud platforms. By providing industry expertise and technical validation, both the firms are looking to facilitate responsible adoption of AI technologies.
